About Mr Nasir Iqbal

Personal Profile

Mr Nasir Iqbal is a Consultant General and Colorecta Surgeon at both Beaumont Hospital in Bolton, and The Highfield Hospital in Rochdale.

He is on the Specialist Register as a General Surgeon and his sub-specialty practice is in colorectal surgery. Within this, Mr Iqbal has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery.

He trained in the Republic of Ireland and has a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from the University of Strasbourg, European Institute of Telesurgery. Mr Iqbal completed his fellowship in 'Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery' at the prestigious Institute Adelaide and Meath Hospital (Tallaght Hospital) in Dublin, Ireland. 

Over the years, Mr Iqbal has pursued a specialist interest in minimally invasive surgery. In the area of general surgery, he performs routine laparoscopic cholecystectomies (keyhole surgery to remove the gallbladder), diagnostic laparoscopies and has an interest in keyhole surgery for the treatment of groin and incisional hernias. 

He enjoys teaching and surgical training, and is active in both local and regional training programmes, as well as having an interest in research and academic surgery.
