Mr Naresh Somashekar was appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals in 2011. His extensive orthopaedic training took place in London, as part of the prestigious St Mary’s, Charing Cross, and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Rotation. He further honed his expertise with Fellowship training in Knee and Sports Injury at the renowned Jonathan Webb Clinic in Bristol, as well as in Trauma Surgery at St Mary’s Trauma Centre in Paddington.
A respected contributor to the field of knee surgery, Mr Somashekar has authored and co-authored numerous publications. He is also committed to teaching, regularly instructing medical students, junior doctors, and specialist orthopaedic trainees.
Mr Somashekar specializes in both surgical and non-surgical treatments for hip and knee arthritis, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory forms of arthritis. He is highly experienced in performing hip and knee replacements, helping patients improve their quality of life.
With a keen interest in sports-related injuries, Mr Somashekar has extensive experience treating injuries to the hip and knee, particularly in the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), medial collateral ligament (MCL), and lateral collateral ligament (LCL). He is a specialist in arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery of the knee, offering treatments for meniscal injuries, articular cartilage damage, including meniscal repair and cartilage regeneration, and knee cap dislocations.
In addition to knee and hip injuries, Mr Somashekar also treats tendon conditions, such as tendonitis, and has significant expertise in managing hip injuries like labral tears, tendonitis, and trochanteric bursitis.
