In 2012 Ms Neal was awarded a PhD in prostate cancer research from the University of Cambridge for which her work was internationally recognised and for which she won several prizes including First Prize at the Royal Society of Medicine Urology Winter Meeting, Best Poster at the European Association of Urology Annual Meeting and shortlisted for Cancer Research UK Thesis of The Year Award.
Ms Neal completed her specialist urology training in the Eastern and South Central training regions before obtaining her Certificate of Completion of Training in Urology in 2017. She has published widely including peer-reviewed research articles and as co-author of the 'Oxford Handbook of Urology’. Alongside her clinical interests, Ms Neal holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education and has an active interest in teaching medical students, junior doctors and allied health professionals.
She has been a Consultant Urological Surgeon since 2017 when she was appointed in Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and since 2021 has been a Consultant in Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Ms Neal holds an honorary contract with University Hospitals Southampton and sees patients in the NHS and private sector in Hampshire, including Basingstoke and Winchester.
Ms Neal offers consultations for a wide range of urological problems including general urology, bladder cancer and stone disease. She has undertaken sub specialist training in stone surgery, including in Sri Lanka, and has active interests in improving clinical pathways for patients with suspected bladder cancer and their ongoing management. Ms Neal holds membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
