In 2006, she was awarded the young gynaecologist award by the Asia and Oceania Federation of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AOFOG). She has vast experience in working in diverse and low socioeconomic setting in Nepal for number of years before she came to UK.
As an NHS consultant, she is actively involved in the care of patients with gynaecological problems at Queen’s hospital. She is the lead for Early pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology Unit at Queen’s Hospital in Romford. It is a very busy unit where she attends patients coming in emergency with complex gynaecology problems. She has keen interest in managing patients with recurrent miscarriage and has helped several women with numerous miscarriages achieve successful pregnancy. She also trains junior doctors in gynae ultrasound and has supported many research and audit activities at Queen’s Hospital.
She has immense experience in managing gynaecological disorders including heavy periods, fibroids, endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, fertility problems, menopausal problems and performs related major and minor surgeries such as hysteroscopy, endometrial ablation, polyp removal, open and laparoscopic removal of uterus, ovarian cysts, and fibroids.
She is an accredited colposcopist and a member of the British Society for colposcopy and cervical pathology. She is experienced in managing benign and precancerous conditions affecting the cervix and performs diagnostic and therapeutic colposcopy, smear tests, biopsies, and LLETZ. She is also member of British Society for Study of Vulval disease and takes interest in managing a variety of vulval disorders.
