Personal Profile

Dr Baloch is a highly experienced full time pain consultant with over 15 years of experience and leads an exceptionally regarded multidisciplinary pain clinic at his NHS base in Frimley Park hospital.

He qualified in 1997 from Guys and St Thomas medical school and trained in both medicine and anaesthesia at leading London teaching hospitals. He completed a prestigious pain fellowship at St Bartholomew’s hospital, London after gaining experience of pain management at St Thomas’ and Kings College hospitals.

He works within a busy practice seeing over 1000 patients a year both in the NHS and privately. He is one of the leading pain management consultants in Surrey and Hampshire who has been instrumental in the introduction of several innovative pain management techniques for his patients including the use of Botox treatment for migraine and the use of Capsaicin patch therapy for nerve pain. 

He has a special interest in ultrasound guided targeted pain interventions and has introduced one stop See and Treat clinics into both his NHS and private practice using clinic-based ultrasound guided pain injections

He leads in the area of research and education within pain management, and he is regularly invited as faculty for international conferences. He has authored several papers on pain management in internationally recognised journals.

He is part of the court of examiners for the Faculty of Pain Medicine and is a Royal College of Anaesthetists representative at consultant interview panels. He is a committee member of the Interventional pain Group of the British Pain Society and Course Director of the International Ultrasound guided Pain Interventions Workshop at the Royal College of Physicians.

He has helped organise several national and international courses to train pain management doctors improve their skills. He established a highly regarded Pain fellowship programme for senior trainees at Frimley Park hospital.

Dr Baloch employs a collaborative approach working with a team of highly skilled specialist pain physiotherapists and psychologists in partnership with patients to help manage their pain
He believes that pain management is best delivered using a patient centred holistic approach within a multidisciplinary setting.

Dr Baloch is regarded as an authority in the field of pain management and is an established medicolegal expert who provides reports on matters of clinical negligence and personal injury to the courts.
