Dr Arkanath's first Consultant post was at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, where he worked from 2007 till 2013. He was appointed clinical lead for pre dialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis services where he developed these areas to a very high standard. He was also the Training Programme Director for Nephrology training and Royal College representative for the region.
In 2013, Dr Arkanath took an opportunity to move to Singapore as a Senior Consultant where he help set up the renal unit at a new healthcare facility. Also, he was heavily involved in undergraduate medical education and gained the title of Assistant Professor. He returned back to UK in 2019 where he has since worked in the local area. Dr Arkanath is currently a Consultant at Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH).
