Dr Sharif has a broad experience in joint and soft tissue injections and muscle biopsies.
Dr Sharif is a consultant at King’s College Hospital, and has held this position for the last 6 years, currently enjoying private practice for few sessions a week at Shirley Oak Hospital.
He holds postgraduate degrees in both medicine (MRCP) and Rheumatology (MRCP) from the UK, becoming a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in 2010. He undertook his rheumatology training at renowned medical teaching institutions including Chapel Allerton Hospital, Leeds (centre of excellence), Bradford Royal Infirmary and King’s College Hospital in London, University of Sussex Brighton and other hospitals in Kent, Surrey and Sussex. He was lucky to gain rheumatology experience from both North and South of England.
Appointment as Consultant
Dr Sharif was awarded his CCST in 2017. He then was appointed as locum consultant rheumatologist for a year in St George’s Hospital and Guys and St. Thomas’s hospital. He then joined the rheumatology team as a permanent consultant in King’s College Hospital Trust, South sites (Orpington) in 2018.
Teaching
Dr Sharif has a passion for teaching and training the next generation of doctors. He does this for both undergraduates and postgraduates. He regularly lectures, undertakes tutorials and teaches junior doctors where he can make a real difference in educating and moulding the newly qualified trainees.
Dr Sharif, continues to help and support school students for their work experience with aspirations to join the medical career.
