Personal Profile

Mr Mohammed Al Ani is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon specialising in minimally invasive and robotic colorectal surgery. He was appointed as a Consultant at The Hillingdon Hospital NHS Trust following completion of his UK Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Surgery and formal JAG accreditation in colonoscopy.

He completed an MSc in Clinical Drug Development at Queen Mary University of London, graduating with Merit in 2014, and later obtained Membership (MRCS) and Fellowship (FRCS) of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Mr Al Ani undertook specialist colorectal training across several leading NHS centres, including Addenbrooke’s Hospital and St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. He subsequently completed advanced colorectal fellowships at The Royal Marsden Hospital and at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

He is dual robotic console trained and has extensive experience in robotic colorectal surgery, including surgery for colorectal cancer, robotic total mesorectal excision, and other advanced minimally invasive procedures.

In addition to colorectal surgery, Mr Al Ani performs a wide range of general surgical procedures, including hernia repair, gallbladder surgery, and abdominal wall reconstruction. He is recognised as a dedicated and forward-thinking surgeon committed to advancing modern colorectal care within the NHS. He is currently surgical audit lead at Hillingdon Hospital and takes part in colorectal and abdominal wall MDT’s.
