Personal Profile

Dr Ahmed is a UK-trained Consultant Cardiologist with broad expertise in general and interventional cardiology. He is currently practicing as a Consultant Cardiologist with NHS Lanarkshire, where he provides specialist care in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of heart conditions.

After graduating in medicine from the University of Khartoum, Dr Ahmed completed postgraduate training in Ireland and the UK. He achieved Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2015 and obtained the Certificate of Completion of Training in Cardiology in 2022. His advanced training included a fellowship in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) at the Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Ahmed is involved in training, education and cardiology service development.
