About Dr Michelle MacKintosh

Personal Profile

Dr Michelle MacKintosh is an experienced consultant gynaecologist and subspecialty-trained gynaecological oncologist.

She works at a leading tertiary cancer centre within the NHS, where she provides expert care for women with cervical, uterine, ovarian and vulval cancers, alongside her private practice covering both general gynaecology and gynaecological cancer.

Her academic work includes an MD from the University of Manchester on the effects of weight loss on endometrial cancer risk, as well as numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters and contributions to national guidelines. She has received awards from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology (ESGO), which supported advanced surgical training overseas in ovarian cancer surgery.

Beyond her clinical and research commitments, Dr MacKintosh is deeply involved in training the next generation of specialists. She is Vice Chair of the RCOG Subspecialty Training Committee and sits on the RCOG Curriculum and Special Interest Training committees, where she plays a key role in the redesign of O&G training and the assessment of subspecialty training centres and doctors in training.

Above all, Dr Michelle MacKintosh is dedicated to providing personalised, compassionate and evidence-based care for women — from managing common gynaecological problems to delivering highly specialised cancer treatment.
