Michael O'Neill has been Vice President of The Society of Chiropodists & Podiatrist for the last four years, and on the national executive for the last 12. He is one of the country's leading spokespersons to the national press and regularly features in the most popular daily papers and magazines. He lectures both nationally and internationally on a variety of foot problems. One of his special areas of interest is the management and removal of painful corns and calluses.

These would normally require patients to seek the regular services of a chiropodist or podiatrist. Michael O'Neill's treatment is by both Conservative and surgical management. Bio-mechanical evaluations and gait analysis are an essential part in understanding the function and underperformance of the foot and lower limb in order to alleviate pain. Mr O'Neill uses the latest in shoe diagnostic scanning techniques and video technology to achieve this.

Orthotics are often used to position the foot and lower limb into the most efficient position to prevent injury or sometimes over corrected orthotics in order to assist with rehabilitation and pain management. Michael O'Neill works very closely with both Orthopaedics, rheumatology and physiotherapy departments in order to achieve the best outcome for patients.

Mr O'Neill can see and consult on children of all ages. Whilst most young children can be managed without surgery, when it is required, he undertakes this at The Princess Margaret Hospital for children aged 3 and above. Mr O'Neill can also offer paediatric podiatry as a specialised treatment at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
