Mr Amin qualified in dentistry at the Royal London Hospital in 1988, and in medicine at Imperial College London in 1996. He gained both his dental and surgical fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons, England and underwent higher surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton, University College Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital, Eastman Dental Hospital and St George’s Hospital Medical School.
Mr Amin was appointed Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at Heatherwood & Wexham Park Hospitals NHS Trust (now part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust) in 2004. He treats patients with mouth, jaw and neck cancers including microsurgical flap reconstruction and rehabilitation with dental implants and prostheses.
Mr Amin can see and consult on children of all ages. Whilst most young children can be managed without surgery, when it is required, he undertakes this at The Princess Margaret Hospital for children aged 3 and above.
His other interests include facial/dental trauma, salivary gland diseases, jaw joint problems, dentoalveolar surgery (impacted wisdom teeth, dental roots, jaw cysts), and the management of general mouth/lip problems such as ulcers, white/red patches and lumps and bumps. Mr Amin is involved in teaching and training as a clinical tutor and educational supervisor.
