About Max Wilde

Personal Profile

Mr Max Wilde graduated with distinction from the University College and Middlesex Hospital Medical School in London in 1993 and was awarded the First Atchinson Prize for best performance in final MB BS. After house jobs and SHO training in London and SE Thames he obtained the FRCS in 1997. He completed higher surgical training on the Northeast of Scotland rotation at the Aberdeen Royal infirmary with a certificate of completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in 2005. Following an acting consultant post at ARI, in 2005 he was appointed as Consultant in General and Colorectal surgery to Bedford Hospital where he continues to practice full time.

He has been lead clinician for the Colorectal Cancer MDT since 2009. Mr Wilde has an interest in Medical Education, is a Cambridge University recognised clinical teacher, was a Foundation Programme Educational Supervisor for 4 years and teaches on the post-graduate Care of Critically III Surgical patient (cCRISP) course.

In addition to treatments for a wide range of colorectal conditions, he provides a general surgical service including Hernia repair and laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
