Dr Mauro Lencioni is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist specialising in arrhythmias and cardiac electrophysiology. He provides specialist assessment and treatment for patients with heart rhythm conditions, including palpitations and abnormal heart rhythms.
His main clinical practice is based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, part of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, and he also provides private cardiology care at The Priory Hospital.
Dr Lencioni’s area of expertise is the diagnosis and management of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). He has particular experience in assessing symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, and episodes of rapid or irregular heartbeat.

Dr Lencioni completed his medical training and began his early medical career in South Africa. He later moved to the UK, where he completed his physician training and specialist cardiology training, mainly within the West Midlands region.
He has also gained further specialist experience through training in Manchester and Denmark. His fellowship training in Denmark provided additional expertise in cardiac electrophysiology before he was appointed as a Consultant Cardiologist in Birmingham.
Dr Lencioni combines specialist knowledge with a patient-centred approach, ensuring that each patient receives a thorough assessment and a clear understanding of their diagnosis and treatment options.
His expertise in electrophysiology and cardiac rhythm management allows him to provide comprehensive care for patients experiencing symptoms related to abnormal heart rhythms.
