Mr Ramappa is a high-volume hip and knee replacement surgeon. His practice is very much focused on improving outcomes for patients with hip and knee arthritis. Mr Ramappa is very keen on enhanced recovery for all his hip and knee replacement patients and provides a state-of-the-art service for all his patients.

He is one of the first few surgeons in the country to pioneer day-case hip and knee replacement surgery, and has been featured in several news articles about this.

Mr Ramappa gained his medical qualifications in 2001 before completing specialist orthopaedic surgery training in the North East of England. During this time, he gained expertise in complex arthroplasty and soft tissue knee procedures. He also completed an arthroplasty fellowship at Golden Jubilee National Hospital, where he trained in robotic joint replacement, computer-assisted joint replacement, revisions, and complex hip and knee replacement. Mr Ramappa is actively involved in research and has published his findings in several medical journals and presented his work at both national and international conferences. 

Mr Ramappa is also a very enthusiastic teacher and is involved in organising a basic science course to prepare surgeons for the FRCS exam annually. He teaches on the MCh Orthopaedic course organised by Teesside University. Mr Ramappa has research publications in several peer-reviewed journals and has presented research papers at various national and international conferences.
