She has extensive experience in managing a wide range of neurological conditions, including headache disorders, such as migraines and tension headaches, stroke and related blood flow problems in the brain, memory problems and dementia, movement disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and tremors, multiple sclerosis (MS) and similar conditions where the immune system affects the nervous system and nerve disorders that can cause numbness, tingling, or pain (such as neuropathy).
Dr Srikantha has a particular interest in supporting patients who have experienced blackouts, a first seizure, or epilepsy.
She is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care, with a focus on clear communication and helping patients feel informed and supported throughout their care.
Training and Experience
Dr Srikantha completed her medical degree at the University of London, alongside a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Immunobiology and Pathology from Imperial College London.
Her early postgraduate training took place within the Oxford and London deaneries, during which she undertook collaborative research at King’s College Hospital, exploring the use of array comparative genomic hybridisation (array CGH) in patients with complex epilepsy.
Her specialist training in clinical neurology was undertaken at leading neuroscience centres, including Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham and St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London. She was appointed to a substantive Consultant Neurologist post in 2016 and took up the position in 2017, following the award of her Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST).
Dr Srikantha established a dedicated clinical service for patients presenting with first seizures, epilepsy, and traumatic brain injury, improving access to specialist neurological assessment and continuity of care. She has also contributed to tertiary epilepsy services, further advancing her extensive experience in complex seizure disorders and collaborative multidisciplinary care.
Teaching and Research
Dr Srikantha has a long-standing commitment to medical education and enjoys teaching both healthcare professionals and members of the wider community. She has taught clinical neurology at several universities, including Brighton and Sussex, King’s College London, and St George’s, and has previously held a role as a clinical lecturer. Her teaching has ranged from bedside and small-group sessions to formal lectures and seminars.
She remains committed to evidence-based practice and has contributed to both scientific and clinical literature, helping to advance knowledge and best practice in neurology.
