About Dr Mahshid Nickkho Amiry

Dr Nickkho-Amiry is a Consultant Gynaecologist & Fertility Specialist in Manchester. She qualified from University of Manchester in 2005 and completed her specialist training in the North West of England.

Dr Nickkho-Amiry was awarded a PhD from the University of Manchester for her research into Endometrial Cancer. She has published papers and on menstrual disorders, endometrial polyps, fertility and endometrial cancer as well as a book chapter regarding disorders of female reproductive endocrinology.

During her NHS practice, she led the Specialist Fertility Clinic at her Trust and was the Lead Hysteroscopist. She undertakes diagnostic and operative hysteroscopy for a range of conditions including menstrual irregularities, insertion/removal of intrauterine devices, removal of polyps/fibroids and assessment of the womb cavity for fertility. She is a member of the BSGE Hysteroscopy subcommittee. She manages patients with fertility concerns, polycystic ovarian syndrome, ovulation disorders, menstrual irregularities, and premature ovarian insufficiency and miscarriages.

Dr Nickkho-Amiry has completed ultrasound training in gynaecology and undertakes pelvic and transvaginal ultrasound. She is also trained in assessment of tubal patency through HyCoSy and saline infusion sonography. Dr Nickkho-Amiry has a specialist interest in Menopause. She sees patients with unscheduled bleeding on hormone replacement therapy or abnormal bleeding attend a one-stop clinic for history, examination, transvaginal ultrasound and if needed, hysteroscopy and endometrial biopsy.

She also undertakes menopause consultations regarding symptoms, initiating or changing HRT allowing her to provide a comprehensive service for problems associated with menopause. Dr Nickkho-Amiry is very passionate about improving women’s health and health education. She is very active on social media trying to improve gynae health awareness.
