About Dr Mahesh Bhalme

Personal Profile

Dr Bhalme graduated in medicine from Mumbai University in 2002 and completed higher specialist gastroenterology training in North West England, followed by an Advanced Liver Fellowship at St James University Hospital, Leeds. He worked as a locum consultant at the liver transplant unit in Leeds for a year before taking up his current NHS post in 2013 at the Royal Bolton Hospital as a Consultant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist.

He is an expert at performing diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy (OGD), colonoscopy including bowel cancer screening and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatogram (ERCP).
He has authored several publications and has a research interest in liver disease. He is a principle investigator for a number of clinical trials.
