About Mr Magdy Moawad

Personal Profile

Mr Moawad is currently a Consultant Vascular Surgeon at St George’s University Hospitals after previously being the Speciality Clinical Lead for Vascular Surgery for Ashford and St Peter's NHS Trust. He is an Educational Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor and Appraiser.

Mr Moawad was awarded the iWantGreatCare certificate of Excellence in 2022! for delivering outstanding care and as the most highly and consistently recommended clinician by his patients across the UK. He has also been awarded the ghp Private healthcare Award 'the Consultant Vascular Surgeon of the year 2021 for the UK'. Magdy was also awarded certificates of excellence in the previous six consecutive years voted for by patients for his highest standards of care and outcomes which speaks for itself.

Mr. Moawad has a Masters degree in general surgery and gained his FRCS (Ed) in 1999. He also gained CCST and FRCS (Gen.Surg) in vascular surgery in 2009.

He supports the clinical research and has published many papers as well as writing chapters for three textbooks.

Magdy has advanced training in vascular and endovascular surgery and has worked in many eminent Regional Vascular and Endovascular Units such as St. Thomas’, Royal Free and St. George’s University Hospitals in London. This has enhanced his skills and has allowed him to become familiar with different and diverse surgical practices.

Throughout his clinical career he has been involved in both formal and informal teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate doctors from different universities and still  plays an important role in surgical training.

Mr. Moawad is an examiner at Imperial College, London and is also a member of the interviewing panel of potential medical students (MB BS) at St George’s University of London.

Magdy was a guest of honour at the BBC world service in different programs.

Finally, he enjoys playing music and has artistic talent that has been reflected on in his work.
