Lucy Hughes is an experienced and highly qualified Physiotherapist with over 30 years of practice, both in New Zealand and the UK. As the Clinical Services Manager of the Physiotherapy Clinic at Thornbury Hospital, Lucy brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. She completed her undergraduate study with a BSc in Anatomy followed by a Physiotherapy Degree (BPhty) at the University of Otago (New Zealand) and furthered her expertise with a Postgraduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy at the University of Auckland. Additionally, she is trained in APPI Pilates.

Lucy specializes in sports injuries, with a particular focus on rugby, cricket, running, rowing, and golf. She combines her passion for these sports with her professional expertise to deliver personalized, effective rehabilitation programs. Throughout her career, Lucy has worked with high-level teams, including the NZ Royal Ballet, Northern Stage, NZ Schools Netball, NZ Women’s Rugby Team, and top NZ Men’s Rugby teams throughout Wellington, NZ.

With her extensive experience and commitment to hands-on care, Lucy's approach to physiotherapy is holistic, integrating advanced manual therapy techniques with education and tailored exercise programs to optimize recovery and prevent future injuries. She is dedicated to empowering her clients with the knowledge and tools needed to manage and improve their physical health, helping them to not only recover from injury but also enhance their performance.
