About Mr L A Kash Khan

Personal Profile

Mr. L A Kash Khan graduated from the University of Edinburgh Medical School in 1999. He completed his specialist orthopaedic training in both Edinburgh and London, followed by a Fellowship in shoulder and upper limb surgery in Geelong, Australia, where he trained under Professor Richard Page.

Before moving to Aberdeen, Mr. Khan worked as a shoulder and upper limb specialist at the Edinburgh Orthopaedic and Trauma Unit and the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter.

He is now a Consultant at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Woodend Hospitals, where he focuses on shoulder and upper limb surgery in both the NHS and private sectors. His key areas of expertise include shoulder arthroscopy, treating shoulder injuries, and performing shoulder joint replacements.

Mr Khan is actively involved in research and training. He has received several awards for his work and has published and presented widely on topics such as shoulder injuries, surgical techniques, and arthritis. He has contributed to an orthopaedic surgery textbook and regularly reviews scientific articles for medical journals. He also teaches on various local and national training courses.

He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Elbow and Shoulder Society. He also helped found the Scottish Shoulder Group, a society dedicated to advancing shoulder surgery in Scotland, where he serves as convenor. In addition, he holds the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen.
