His first Consultant appointment as a Urologist was at the West Middlesex University Hospital in 2010. Since then, he has developed both the stone and benign prostate services at his NHS Trust and he is leading a successful Endourology service with emphasis on day surgery. He is highly thought of in the field of endourology and stone management and has a special interest in Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms and Benign Hyperplasia of the Prostate gland. He performs the urolift procedure as well as green laser evaporation. Both procedures aim to offer a minimal invasive approach to the treatment of prostate problems to patients that lead to their return to normal lives as soon as possible.
Within Circle Health Group, Mr Charitopoulos practices at the Syon Clinic and Mount Avernia Hospital. He is also an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer of the Imperial College London.
Mr Charitopoulos qualified at Patras University Medical School in Greece and completed his main core Urology training in Athens at the 1st Department of Urology of the University of Athens. He then moved to the UK where he completed a post CCT Fellowship in Endourology at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. He has been awarded a PhD with Honours from the University of Athens and has published more than 30 papers in peer reviewed medical journals and has several academic communications in national and international conferences
