Dr Khaled Mallek is a consultant interventional and general cardiologist with over two decades of experience in diagnosing and managing a wide range of cardiovascular conditions. He practices across multiple institutions, including The Runnymede Hospital and Ashford & St Peter’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Mallek provides specialist consultations and advanced cardiac investigations. He is highly experienced in managing chest pain, shortness of breath, hypertension, palpitations, and high cholesterol. His clinical expertise centres on interventional cardiology, including complex coronary interventions and chronic total occlusions.
Dr Mallek performs a range of procedures, such as coronary angiography, intracoronary imaging (IVUS and OCT), coronary physiology, and angioplasty, including advanced techniques like rotational atherectomy and shockwave therapy. His specialist interests also include coronary physiology, high blood pressure management, and cardiovascular risk prevention.
He completed his cardiology and interventional training at leading hospitals in South London, including Guy’s and St Thomas’, King’s College Hospital, and St George’s Hospital. He undertook a prestigious Interventional fellowship at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. Dr Mallek holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine from Ain Shams University in Egypt.
Dr Mallek is active in research and education. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on cardiovascular interventions and regularly speaks at national and international cardiology conferences. He actively participates in educational programmes and contributes to clinical training for future cardiologists.
