About Katy Vaughan

Personal Profile

Katy graduated with a first-class honours degree in Physiotherapy from Brunel University in 2000. Since then, she has worked in the NHS, private and independent sectors. Initial roles within the NHS gave grounding in neurology, elderly care, women's health and orthopaedics. After this Katy specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, leading a team at Sutton Hospital.

More recently, Katy gained skills in hydrotherapy at The Old Rectory and her most recent role was clinical lead with South-West Surrey Mobile Physiotherapy Service. This was a local charity providing GP direct access physiotherapy alongside a domiciliary service for individuals with temporary and more permanent mobility issues, preventing them from accessing physiotherapy at their GP surgery.

Katy strives to provide evidence-based physiotherapy treatment, centred around the patient and after a thorough assessment. Her main treatment approaches are manual therapy and exercise, alongside advice, education and promotion of general health and well-being.

Before training as a physiotherapist, Katy was a professional dancer: she trained at the Royal Ballet School and danced both in the UK and in Germany.
