About Mr Kamran Khan

Personal Profile

Mr Khan is a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon, who graduated medical school in 2006. He currently holds a Substantive Consultant post at Manchester Royal Infirmary. His qualifications include MBBS, MS, DNB (General Surgery), DNB (Vascular Surgery) and FRCS Ed (Vascular Surgery), reflecting a strong academic foundation. He has been appointed as Honorary Senior Lecturer at The University of Manchester for his research involvement. Mr Khan is an outstanding clinician and surgeon, performing full range of elective and emergency vascular procedures. He specialises in varicose vein surgery, complex lower limb bypasses, carotid artery disease, aneurysm management, vascular trauma and treatment of bowel ischemia.

Mr Khan’s career has been defined by a commitment to excellence in vascular surgery and a deep-rooted belief in patient-centred care. He believes that empowering patients through education and shared decision-making is key to successful outcomes.

He has led national audits for Greater Manchester such as VISTA, contributed to service improvement projects and has several journal publications and paper presentations. He secured funding from British Heart Foundation for translational research. He is an experienced surgical trainer and faculty for national and regional surgical courses; He runs Mentorship and Clinical Observer’s programme for Overseas graduates. In his leadership capacity, he is currently working on guidelines for management of Vascular trauma and Mesenteric ischaemia across Greater Manchester and East Cheshire.

Mr Khan is known for his calm, compassionate approach and his commitment to providing the highest standard of care. He is competent in all forms of vascular surgery which include open, endovascular and hybrid approach.
