Dr Sawhney has been working as a consultant paediatrician since October 1994 in Buckinghamshire. He has experience and specialist knowledge working as a consultant paediatrician in acute as well as community paediatrics.

Dr Sawhney’s special clinical interests include epilepsy, neurodevelopmental disorders, growth disorders and neurodisability. He is the lead for ADHD in Buckinghamshire and has been closely involved with child mental health services to optimise ADHD services in the county.

Throughout his professional career Dr Sawhney has also been a lead for epilepsy services and was the named doctor for safeguarding for a number of years.

Over and above his consultancy work Dr Sawhney has also been involved with training junior doctors in general paediatrics and safeguarding. Topics he covered in this training included ADHD and other presentations of neurodisability and neurodevelopmental problems.

Dr Sawhney has in the past written a paper on aetiology of children with moderate learning difficulties.
