About Dr Kamal Ibrahim

Personal Profile

Dr Ibrahim is a Respiratory Consultant with extensive experience in the management of a wide range of respiratory conditions.

He trained in Respiratory Medicine in London, rotating through specialist units in the Royal London Hospital, The London Chest and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals and the University College London Hospital amongst others.

He was appointed as a Respiratory Consultant at the Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in January 2007 where he continues to practice. He has recently been the Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine in the Trust and is currently the Trust Clinical Lead for COPD, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Physician Associates, Oxygen and Virtual Respiratory Services. Dr Ibrahim has established the Medical Thoracoscopy and Physician-led Chest Ultrasound service in the Trust.

He has a wide experience in management of respiratory symptoms and diseases including cough and breathlessness, COPD, asthma, bronchiectasis, sleep disorders, long COVID and pleural diseases.

Dr Ibrahim enjoys teaching. He is a visiting Senior Lecturer at the University of Bolton and he also teaches students from Manchester medical schools attached to the respiratory department at the Royal Bolton Hospital. He also delivers regular teaching sessions to GP's and specialist nurses in Bolton and Greater Manchester
