Qualified in 1994 from Manchester University . Postgraduate training in North west and East of Scotland. Studied for a MD in prostate cancer research awarded from Manchester in 2003. Performed the first robotic prostatectomy in Scotland in 2015 and pionerred prostate fusion biopsies for prostate cancer diagnosis in Aberdeen.

Developed the PDD diagnostic service for bladder cancer in Aberdeen.

Strong training interests examines nationally and internationally for surgical and urological examinations.

Was training programme director for east of Scotland urology. Current chair of the Specialist Advisory Committee in Urology.
