Ms. Julie Kohls is a highly skilled Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in foot and ankle conditions. She expertly treats a wide range of problems, from minor issues to complex cases, always aiming for the best possible patient outcomes. Julie is dedicated to using the latest surgical techniques, including advanced keyhole surgery. When surgery isn't needed, she provides expert assessments and guides patients toward recovery through physiotherapy and other treatments like orthotics. Julie is passionate about her field, constantly striving to incorporate new surgical tools and technologies to enhance patient care. Julie completed her extensive orthopaedic surgery training in the United Kingdom, specifically on the London North West training programme after arriving in London in 1999. In 2007, she achieved the prestigious qualification of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS (Tr & Orth)), a mark of surgical excellence in the UK.
She then dedicated 18 months to specialised Fellowship Training in Foot and Ankle Surgery. This dedicated training included a significant period at the prestigious Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, London, followed by a second year as the Surrey Foot and Ankle Fellow, working at both the Royal Surrey County Hospital and Frimley Park Hospital. Beyond her clinical work, Julie also holds a Master's Degree in Surgical Education from the University of Toronto, reflecting her commitment to teaching.
Ms Kohls offers her services at a weekly Monday and Friday clinics at Mount Alvernia Hospital Guildford. She is a proud member of One Orthopaedics, a group of specialist orthopaedic consultants aiming to provide comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation for musculoskeletal conditions.
Ms Kohls has worked at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford since July 2007 and established her private practice in 2010. With an impressive record of over 6,000 Foot and Ankle procedures performed, she brings a wealth of experience to her patients.
Julie's key clinical interests include Forefoot Surgery, Heel Pain, all Sports Injuries to the Foot and Ankle, Foot and Ankle Arthritis, and Tendon problems. She is an active member of BOFAS (British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society) and the British Orthopaedic Association. Julie has been elected to the BOFAS Education Committee and is dedicated to teaching and training other surgeons.
