Julie qualified as a Physiotherapist at Kings College Hospital, London. She gained her core skills in the NHS before joining the rehabilitation team at JSMRU Headley Court, specialising in upper limb trauma.
She returned to work in the NHS locally and then joined the physiotherapy team at Mount Alvernia as an MSK Physiotherapist with a special interest in Hand Therapy. Julie now works part time purely as a Hand Therapist at the hospital. She works closely with the Consultants and GPs in the area, receiving private and NHS referrals.
Following a detailed assessment, she discusses the diagnosis, patient concerns and difficulties relating to their problem which enables her to plan an evidence based rehabilitation programme, adjusting it to fit with hobbies, work and lifestyle.
Julie enjoys treating a variety of conditions including finger and thumb injuries, tendonitis, Osteoarthritis, RSI, fractures and soft tissue trauma to the hand, wrist and elbow. She is a member of BAHT and the BMI Hand Therapy Special Interest Group. Julie has attended external courses and study days to improve her knowledge and skills.
When not at work, Julie likes to keep active and spending time with her family and friends.
