About Mr Joseph Nariculam

Personal Profile

Mr Joseph Nariculam has been a Consultant Urologist at Darent Valley since February 2016. He is a general Consultant Urologist with a special interest in Renal Stones and Lower Urinary Tract Dysfunction. He qualified from Imperial College School of Medicine in 1998. Following Basic Surgical Training, he completed specialist urology training in the North Thames Deanery in October 2014. 

He has performed over 500 flexible/rigid ureteroscopies and laser of renal/ureteric stones. He has also set up a urodynamics service and has developed local guidelines for patients with lower urinary tract dysfunction.

With the uro-gynae team, he has helped set up a local uro-gynae MDT meeting and they together have also set up intravesical therapy under local anaesthetic via flexible cystoscopy as a treatment option for patients with overactive bladder.

Mr Nariculam is very interested in teaching and regularly teaches and supervises the middle grade doctors to perform cases in theatre. He is also a lecturer in urology and examiner for Guys Medical School. Mr Nariculam is also involved in the training of foundation and core trainee doctors and has been recently appointed as an Educational Supervisor for Final Year Medical Students.
