Dr Slater originally trained at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School in London before serving as a Regimental Medical Officer in the British Army. Before discovering his passion for dermatology, he worked as a Principle in General Practice. He subsequently retrained and gained entry onto the Specialist Register as a Dermatology Consultant.
Having previously held the role of Clinical Lead for reconstructive skin cancer surgery at East Surrey Hospital, Dr Slater is a recognised expert in skin cancer diagnosis and facial reconstructive surgery. He has a particular interest in diagnosing skin cancer and has run a number of Educational Workshops on the use of dermoscopy. He is the Clinical Lead for the Surrey Community Dermatology Service and a member of the Guildford Skin Cancer multi-disciplinary team, which combines the expertise of colleagues from specialities such as oncology, pathology and radiology to provide the very best regional care to skin cancer patients..
Dr Slater also treats a wide range of skin problems including acne, hair loss and rashes. Dr Slater performs full skin checks to assess a patient's moles as well as surgery to remove common skin cancers and a wide variety of common lumps and bumps such as skin tags, lipomas and cysts.
His private practice also covers aesthetic treatments including anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, skin peels and lasers.
