Mr Jonathan Gosling undertook his higher surgical training in London as part of the North East Thames rotation. He then completed fellowships at Oxford University Hospital and St Mark’s Hospital before joining the Royal Free Hospital as a consultant.
A consultant colorectal and general surgeon, Mr Gosling has a particular interest in minimally invasive techniques. His specialist expertise includes colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease. He manages a broad range of planned and emergency colorectal conditions, including hernias, benign colorectal disease and proctological problems such as haemorrhoids, anal fissures and fistulas.
Mr Gosling holds an MD(Res) from University College London, awarded for his research into gastrointestinal physiology. His findings have been published in peer-reviewed medical journals.
Alongside his clinical practice, he serves as clinical governance lead and chairs the colorectal cancer multidisciplinary team. He is also a member of the North Central London Colorectal Cancer Alliance, an examiner at UCL Medical School and an enthusiastic trainer of junior surgeons.
