Mr Jonathan Luscombe is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Worcestershire. His main private practice is at Droitwich Spa Hospital, and he also provides NHS care at The Alexandra Hospital, where he treats a wide range of lower limb orthopaedic conditions.
He completed his specialist surgical training in the West Midlands, developing advanced expertise in lower limb reconstruction. A key part of his training took place at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, one of the UK’s leading specialist centres. Here, he refined his skills in complex hip and knee surgery. He also spent over a year at Selly Oak Hospital, gaining valuable experience in trauma surgery, including the management of severely injured patients and military-related trauma.
Mr Luscombe has extensive experience in joint replacement surgery, performing over 200 procedures each year. His work includes primary and revision hip replacements, as well as primary knee replacements. He also carries out knee arthroscopy for degenerative and sports-related knee conditions.
He has a specialist interest in the monitoring and management of metal-on-metal hip implants and leads NHS surveillance services for these implants across North Worcestershire.
Alongside his clinical practice, Mr Luscombe is actively involved in medical education and training. He has organised and contributed to national educational meetings focused on hip and knee replacement surgery. He also works as an Educational Supervisor for the West Midlands Deanery and serves as the Royal College of Surgeons representative for Worcestershire, helping to support surgical training and standards across the region.
Mr Luscombe is committed to patient-centred care. He places strong emphasis on shared decision-making, ensuring patients receive clear explanations and understand all available treatment options before making decisions about their care.
Through his work at Droitwich Spa Hospital, he provides specialist orthopaedic care focused on improving mobility, reducing pain, and supporting long-term joint function using evidence-based surgical techniques.
