About Dr John McLindon

Personal Profile

Dr John McLindon qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1986, trained in Liverpool and Manchester and was appointed to the post of Consultant Gastroenterologist at St Helens and Knowsley in 1990. He has been the Senior Medical Gastroenterologist in the Trust since then and has also been the Director of Medical Education for the Trust.   

Dr McLindon has a particular interest in both luminal gastroenterology and hepatology and has expertise in the full range of diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (gastroscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, ERCP). 

His clinical expertise extends to the prevention and management of gastrointestinal cancer, nutrition, management of conditions such as diarrhea, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, Coeliac disease, indigestion, reflux disease and anaemia. 

Dr McLindon is an accredited trainer for endoscopy and honorary senior lecturer at Liverpool University.
