About Mr John Beatty

Mr Beatty is a consultant urological surgeon at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust.  He was appointed in 2009 to develop the laparoscopic pelvic oncology service at Northampton General and to support the existing laparoscopic and open oncology service.  He was trained in oncological surgery at Imperial College and at the The Royal Marsden Hospital, London.  He completed a laparoscopic radical prostatectomy fellowship in Leipzig, Germany under Professor Stolzenburg at the University of Leipzig.

In addition to general urology he has a sub-specialty interest in laparoscopic pelvic oncology (laparoscopic radical prostatectomy) and upper tract laparoscopy (laparoscopic nephrectomy).  A complete general urology service is provided including surgery for benign prostate disease and renal stone disease.  His thesis was on bladder cancer for which he received a MD from the University of London. He maintains an academic interest in clinical research.
