Personal Profile

Ms Jenny Walton is a Consultant ENT Surgeon at The Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. She graduated from The University of Birmingham Medical School in 2008, subsequently attaining Distinction in a Masters of Clinical Science degree in Functional and Clinical Anatomy in 2013, further strengthening her clinical and academic foundation.  

Ms Walton went on to complete her specialty training in ENT within the Thames Valley Region and prior to taking up her consultant post, completed The Oxford Regional Fellowship in Head and Neck, Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgery. This provided a prestigious opportunity to work with different experts throughout the Thames Valley region, including the Endocrine surgeons in Oxford. Ms Walton carried out her Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons exams in 2023, where she was awarded the coveted Gold Medal for outstanding achievement. 

Following her Fellowship, Ms Walton was appointed as a Consultant ENT Surgeon at The Royal Berkshire Hospital. Her practice spans all areas of general ENT and her specialist interests include both Head and Neck and Paediatric ENT. Ms Walton also works within both the regional Thyroid cancer and Head and Neck cancer multidisciplinary teams to ensure up to date and individualised care for her patients. 

Ms Walton is a keen medical educator alongside her clinical practice. As well as writing for educational journals, she has authored a book chapter on thyroid surgery.  

Outside work, Ms Walton is a keen runner with lots of half and full marathons under her belt but is happiest exploring the great outdoors with her husband and three children.
