About Dr Jenny Messenger

Personal Profile

Dr Jenny Messenger is a Consultant in Respiratory and General Medicine. She is highly experienced in her field and sees patients from Worthing, Pulborough, Horsham and further afield.

At Goring Hall Hospital Dr Messenger can see patients for general respiratory conditions such as asthma, breathing difficulties, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cystic fibrosis, Pneumonia and post-COVID-19 respiratory issues. 

During her training, she carried out research into Venous Thromboembolic Disease at the Vascular Institute, King's College Hospital in London. Her sub specialist interests include lung cancer, interventional bronchoscopy, pleural diseases and targeted lung health check screening. 

She is currently the Clinical Director for speciality medicine at the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton and the Princess Royal Hospital at Haywards Heath. She is the Clinical Director for the targeted lung health checks programme in Sussex and has been the clinical co-chair of the Surrey and Sussex Lung Cancer Alliance since it was developed.

Jenny has a keen interest in medical education and is the course director for an annual thoracic ultrasound course.

Jenny works closely with other experienced healthcare professionals including Respiratory Physiotherapists who offer invaluable support in managing respiratory conditions.

Personal interests
Jenny lives in Lewes with her partner, four children and her dog. Her spare time is spent enjoying country walks, going to the theatre and cinema and spending time with friends and family. She loves visiting new places around the world.
