About Jeetender Peehal

Personal Profile

Mr. Jeetender Peehal is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery, with a specialist interest in Hand and Wrist Surgery. He earned his medical degree (MBBS) in 1995 from Osmania Medical College, affiliated with the University of Health Sciences. He subsequently completed a postgraduate Master’s degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics at the same institution before relocating to the UK to pursue higher surgical training in the field. 

Further specialising in Hand & Wrist Surgery, Mr. Peehal undertook dual fellowships at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ Hospitals in London and Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. During this time, he gained extensive experience in treating complex traumatic injuries and managing elective conditions involving in the hand and wrist. He also successfully passed the Fellowship Examination of the European Board of Hand Surgery. 

Mr. Peehal remains committed to continuous professional development by regularly attending national and international conferences. He has presented at numerous events and has contributed to multi-centre clinical trials as well as peer-reviewed publications.  

He is married to a General Practitioner, and together they have two children. Outside of his professional responsibilities, Mr. Peehal actively supports charitable causes – most recently participating in a 10k charity run in May 2025, raising £1,126 for the WWF.

 

Clinical Interests

Mr Peehal’s interest is to manage conditions initially without surgery.  Where non-operative management fails, he offers specialist surgery and uses techniques like WALANT (Wide Awake Local Anaesthesia and No Tourniquet), IPS (Individual Patient Solutions) which uses computer aided 3D printed models and minimally invasive techniques keeping patient’s comfort and needs at the centre of his treatment plan.

List of procedures he offers include - Steroid/PRP injections in hand and wrist conditions,  Carpal tunnel surgery – open and keyhole, cubital tunnel; Tendinitis – De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis, Tennis and Golfer’s elbow, Trigger finger; Base  of thumb arthritis treatment with Trapeziectomy or Joint replacement;  Finger joint arthritis treatment with joint fusion or replacement; Surgery for correction of deformity wrist; Arthroscopic (keyhole) surgery for wrist arthritis, ligament repair, impaction syndrome; Scaphoid fracture and Non-union. Wrist ligament repair or reconstruction. Dupuytren’s Disease  surgery – Fasciotomy/Fasciectomy; Removal of ganglion or swelling;  Tenolysis - surgery for stiffness in finger after injury or surgery
