Dr Shah qualified from St George's Hospital Medical School in 1996. He completed his training in cardiology in Northwest London in 2011, when he took up a role as a locum Consultant at Harefield Hospital and has been working as a substantive Consultant Cardiologist since 2012 in the London Northwest University Hospitals NHS Trust. In his training time he has completed an MD from University College London in the field of cardiomyopathy and is extensively published. He possesses a high level of expertise in symptoms such as chest pain, palpitations, shortness of breath, dizzy spells and blackouts, amongst many others.

He can implant pacemakers to treat slow heart beats, devices that can treat and deliver lifesaving shocks (defibrillators) to the heart to prevent sudden cardiac death and pacemakers that can improve the function of the heart in selected patients with heart failure (bi-ventricular pacemakers) including the emerging techniques of conduction system pacemakers.

Dr Shah is the lead for the pacing and heart failure services at Northwick Park Hospital. He has provided clinical leadership in the development of the pacing and the Cardiology Virtual Ward programs in his NHS work.

Dr Shah works with Northwest London primary and secondary care teams to improve treatment of patients who are at risk of or have already had a cardiac event (primary and secondary prevention treatments) which includes the treatment of raised cholesterol, raised blood pressure, diabetes, and heart failure.

Dr Shah is kind, empathic and able to provide holistic care to his patients. He uses state of the art diagnostics (such as 12-lead Electrocardiography (ECG), cardiac ultrasound (echocardiography), ECG monitoring (24 hour up to 7 day), cardiac CT and MRI imaging) and clinical expertise to provide accurate diagnoses and set out an individualised treatment and management plan for his patients.
