Personal Profile

Dr Jasroop Chana trained at University of Southampton Medical School, followed by her postgraduate training in the Wessex and Oxford regions. She entered Specialist Rheumatology training in the Oxford Deanery in 2008, obtaining her Certificate for Completion of Training in 2015. She is dual accredited in both General Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and currently practices both in her NHS Consultant role at Buckinghamshire Hospitals NHS Trust since 2015. 

Dr Chana’s experience is full and varied, covering all aspects of Rheumatology. She runs NHS clinics at Stoke Mandeville Hospital and Amersham Hospital. She administers joint and soft tissue injections for several conditions, such as arthritis, gout and bursitis. She is the governance lead for the department and is involved in service development through her lead role in the Early Inflammatory Arthritis Pathway and Giant Cell Arteritis. She has published in peer reviewed journals and is fully compliant with the Medical Appraisal process. She has a keen interest in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound and has obtained the EULAR Level 1 accreditation. 

Dr Chana holds additional responsibilities in Medical Education. She is the training programme director for Internal Medicine Training for Thames Valley (formally Oxford Deanery). She also supervises doctors in training at all levels. She is active in Teaching, from medical students from University of Oxford and University of Buckingham Medical School, to Allied Health Professionals.
