About Mr Jas Kalsi

Personal Profile

Personal Profile

Jas trained in Medicine at UCL Medical School in London and then underwent general surgical training at King’s College and The Royal Free Hospitals.

Following a period of research into smooth muscle physiology at the Wolfson Institute, UCL, he trained in Urology on the Imperial Higher Urological training programme, and subsequently undertook a fellowship in andrological / genito-urethral surgery at the Institute of Urology, UCL.

He has published and presented extensively in the field of andrology, and previously won the prestigious International Society for Sexual Medicine Young Investigator Award. Clinical Interests

Jas has a passion for treating patients using minimally invasive techniques so that they may return to normal activities quickly. Mr Kalsi is a national mentor and pioneer for the minimally invasive Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) treatment in the UK. This procedure alleviates symptoms due to the prostate. Men can pass urine with a faster flow and less frequently after recovery. He was also the first consultant to perform this operation at both The Princess Margaret and The Clementine Churchill Hospitals. He is a specialist in the management of men with both erectile and fertility problems using the latest techniques including micro-surgery. He is able to offer a full spectrum of options so that the care of the patient may be individualised.

He also commonly deals with patients with Peyronie’s disease where there is severe bending of the penis not allowing penetrative sexual intercourse.

Jas also offers a state of the art renal tract stone service, which includes the use of holmium laser and flexible digital ureteroscopes to allow excellent vision and stone removal with minimal trauma.

  • General urology (TURP, Laser prostate surgery, Circumcision)
  • Andrology (Male infertility and erectile problems)
  • Stone disease (Minimally invasive surgery)
  • Green light and Holmium laser prostatectomy

Mr Kalsi can see and consult on children of all ages. Whilst most young children can be managed without surgery, when it is required, he undertakes this at The Princess Margaret Hospital for children aged 3 and above.
