About Janet Bowden

Personal Profile

Janet Bowden qualified with a BSc in Physiotherapy from Brunel University in 1993. She completed her Junior Rotations at St Thomas’s and Guys Hospital Trust and the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Trust in London.

In 2004, Janet completed a Master’s degree in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the University of Hertfordshire. She also gained membership of the Musculoskeletal Association of Physiotherapists (MACP). Janet has experience of working as a Physiotherapist in several different settings, including Community Hospitals, GP Practices, Women’s Prison and a Musculoskeletal Triage Service. She keeps up to date with and is interested in the management of a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Janet joined Mount Alvernia in 2018 and currently works as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist.

She is especially interested in spinal and shoulder conditions, rheumatological conditions and pain management. Janet works hard to provide a thorough assessment and treatment plan for her patients. She aims to do this by listening, using problem-solving, clinical skills and experience and therefore enabling the patients to effectively manage their musculoskeletal conditions.

In her spare time, she has a wide range of interests including walking, gardening, music and reading. She volunteers regularly with a local Organisation looking after Adults with Special Needs.
