Mr. Jamil Ahmed is a highly experienced Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with over 20 years of NHS service and a proven track record of performing thousands of successful plastic surgery procedures.
Mr. Ahmed completed the prestigious Surgical Leadership Program at Harvard Medical School in 2022, reflecting his commitment to advancing surgical excellence. His specialist training in plastic surgery was undertaken in Southwest England and London, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the Hand Surgery service at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. He dedicated a decade to this institution before relocating to Aberdeen in 2014.
His comprehensive training encompasses all subspecialties of plastic surgery, including hand surgery, skin oncology, breast reconstruction, free tissue transfer procedures, and aesthetic surgery. After achieving his FRCS (Plast) qualification in 2013, Mr. Ahmed was awarded a Fellowship in Plastic Surgery by The Royal College of Surgeons and a European Fellowship in Plastic Surgery. He joined the prestigious GMC Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery in 2019.
Mr. Ahmed is an elected Council Member of both the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS). He is also a proud member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS) and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH).
As a GMC-recognized trainer, Mr. Ahmed is deeply involved in shaping the next generation of plastic surgeons. He is a member of the Scottish Training Committee (STC) and the Specialty Advisory Committee (SAC) UK and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Surgical Trainers at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. His academic contributions include directing two international courses on Hand Surgery and Flap Reconstruction in London and Aberdeen.
