He trained at the Southampton University School of Medicine and completed his Orthopaedic Higher Surgical Training within the Wessex region before undertaking the BASK (British Association of Knee Surgery) Fellowship in Bournemouth and the Lower Limb Arthroplasty and Trauma Surgery Fellowship in Auckland, New Zealand.
Mr Smith works as an NHS Consultant in Orthopaedics & Trauma Surgery at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and privately, based at the The Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester.
He maintains an active and ongoing medical research interest, staying current with new diagnostics and treatments offered.
He has published over 30 papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and regularly speaks at Orthopaedic conferences and events.
