About Mr Isaac Nyamekye

Personal Profile

Mr Isaac Nyamekye is an experienced Consultant Vascular Surgeon with a specialist interest in the diagnosis and treatment of venous and arterial conditions. He provides expert care for patients with varicose veins, vascular disease, and conditions affecting circulation, using modern minimally invasive techniques where appropriate.

Mr Nyamekye graduated from the University of Bristol Medical School in 1988. He went on to complete his specialist surgical training in general and vascular surgery across leading centres including University College Hospital London, Sheffield, and Bristol.

This broad training provided him with extensive experience in both general surgery and complex vascular conditions, forming the foundation of his specialist practice.

Mr Nyamekye’s private practice has a strong focus on the treatment of varicose veins. Since 2004, he has specialised in minimally invasive endovenous techniques, which are now widely used as a modern alternative to traditional open surgery.

These procedures treat varicose veins from within the vein itself, significantly reducing the need for surgical incisions in the groin and eliminating the need for vein stripping in most cases.

Patients treated with endovenous techniques typically benefit from:

  • Less discomfort after treatment
  • No large surgical wounds
  • Faster recovery and return to normal activities
  • Excellent long-term outcomes

In many cases, long-term results from endovenous treatment are comparable to, or better than, traditional varicose vein surgery.

Mr Nyamekye is committed to offering evidence-based treatment options and tailoring care to each patient’s individual condition and lifestyle needs.

In addition to venous disease, Mr Nyamekye also treats a wide range of arterial vascular conditions. These include procedures to improve blood flow in patients with narrowed or blocked arteries, helping to reduce symptoms such as pain, poor circulation, and reduced mobility.

His comprehensive vascular practice allows him to manage both common and complex vascular conditions using modern surgical and minimally invasive techniques.

Mr Nyamekye also performs transthoracic sympathectomy, a specialist surgical procedure used to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). This treatment is offered to patients whose symptoms significantly affect their daily life and wellbeing.

Mr Nyamekye is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-focused vascular care. He takes a clear and practical approach to explaining treatment options, ensuring patients understand their condition and the available procedures.

His goal is to provide effective, minimally invasive treatments wherever possible, helping patients achieve faster recovery, improved comfort, and long-term symptom relief.
