About Humphrey Scott

Personal Profile

Professor Humphrey Scott was appointed as Consultant Surgeon as Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Trust in 1996. Professor Scott is particularly interested in laparoscopic surgery for the treatment of colorectal diseases and bowel cancer, as well as colonoscopy. He also trains and performs general surgical procedures, listed above. He is a certified trainer in laparoscopic and open surgery and an accredited trainer in colonoscopy. He is also the Trust’s designated surgeon for malignant skin conditions and soft tissue sarcomas.

Professor Scott was awarded an MA in Clinical Education (Distinction) in 2009. He is Head of School for Kent, Surrey and Sussex Deanery and an Associate Dean, managing the training programmes for Core Trainees and developing the training Programmes for Higher Surgical Trainees. In 2012 he was winner of the Silver Scalpel Award for best UK Surgical Trainer award by ASiT.
