About Mr Hitesh Patel

Personal Profile

Mr Patel is a substantive NHS consultant surgeon working at Newham University Hospital. He has a busy NHS practice covering all aspects of general and colorectal surgery and routinely performs laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery for gallstones, hernias and colorectal cancer.

Mr Patel obtained his Bachelors Degree in Medicine and Surgery (MB ChB) from the University of Liverpool Medical School in 1994. In addition Mr Patel holds a Masters degree in Surgery from the University of London and has published a number of articles pertaining to colorectal cancer in scientific medical journals.

Mr Patel completed his surgical training on the North East Thames Higher Surgical Rotation and has worked in a number of specialist colorectal centres, including St Mark’s Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto.
