Mr Hilal Fareed FRCS (T&O) is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon. He is a general trauma and orthopaedic surgeon with special interest in lower limb surgery particularly hip and knee surgery including joint replacement surgery and arthroscopic (keyhole) knee surgery. He has extensive experience in management of fractures and musculoskeletal trauma. Mr Fareed also treats children with orthopaedic problems.
Mr Fareed obtained M.S in orthopaedic surgery from the renowned Aligarh University in India and MCh Orth from University of Liverpool. He passed the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) Examination and gained entry to the General Medical Council’s Specialist Register.
After completing his training and working as a consultant in India Mr Fareed came to the UK. He was trained as registrar in Northwest of England and worked as a senior registrar at the Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot. After having worked for a considerable time at the West Middlesex University Hospital in London, he now works as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at St Marys Hospital, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, Newport.
Mr Fareed is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and a fellow of Royal Society of Medicine. He is also a member of the orthopaedic council of RSM. He takes keen interest in undergraduate and postgraduate training of the next generation of doctors.
Having worked as an orthopaedic surgeon in India, the Middle East and the UK, Mr Fareed is widely experienced and has a growing practice in providing a second opinion for patients from all over the world.
Besides his clinical and operative orthopaedic practice Mr Fareed also has an extensive medico-legal practice as an expert in trauma and orthopaedics.
Mr Fareed can communicate fluently in English, Urdu and Hindi and has basic knowledge of Arabic and Persian.
