Miss Heena Mehra is a highly experienced Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 20 years of expertise in women’s health. She currently leads the Early Pregnancy Unit at University Hospital Lewisham and is known for her warm, thorough, and evidence-based approach to care.
She completed her medical training in India in 2004, where she obtained a Master of Surgery (MS) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and went on to receive extensive specialist training in the UK. She was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) in 2015 and completed advanced accredited training in early pregnancy ultrasound and the management of acute gynaecology at King’s College London.

She is highly skilled in diagnostic procedures and minimally invasive gynaecological surgery, including outpatient hysteroscopy and laparoscopic (keyhole) techniques, and provides a personalised approach tailored to each patient’s needs.
Miss Mehra has previously held senior leadership roles, including Clinical Director for Women’s Health and Gynaecology Risk Lead at University Hospital Lewisham, where she contributed to service development, patient safety, and clinical governance. She continues to support regional service improvement across the South East London Network.
A dedicated educator, she is actively involved in teaching and mentoring junior doctors, and is appreciated by her colleagues and patients for her clarity, empathy, and clinical excellence.
